When uterus or womb lost its original position or drooped from its normal place into the vagina or birth canal, causing the condition known as a Uterine Prolapse. The common cause of Uterine Prolapse is to be weakening pelvic floor muscles and ligaments which are not able to provide adequate support for the uterus.

Types of Uterine Prolapse:

Uterine Prolapse might be of First Degree, Second Degree & Third Degree in nature. The uterus or womb helps to support the top of the vagina. If symptoms or signs seem to be positive than doctor may go for pelvic examination in which speculum inserted into vagina to observe physically internal vaginal canal and uterus. You may be lying down, or your doctor may ask you to stand during this exam.

To determine the degree of prolapse, your doctor may ask you to “bear down” as if you were having a bowel movement.
